ASEAN Head for Strategy & Sustainability, Accenture
Ms Malavika Bambawale leads Accenture’s Strategy & Sustainability Practice in ASEAN. The practice helps companies to develop strategies for conducting business in a sustainable way, contributing shared value across business, society and environment. Typical projects that her team delivers are related to low carbon infrastructure development, smart cities, adoption of energy efficient technologies, new energy strategies, and traceability in agribusiness and consumer goods.
Prior to joining Accenture, Malavika worked with Bosch to develop clean and renewable technologies, including electric vehicle infrastructure and off-grid lighting solutions using renewable generation.
She has also worked as a manager with McKinsey’s Climate Change Special Initiative in London, helping both the private and public sector on climate regulation and strategy, as well as with the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy to evaluate donor funded rural electrification programmes in Asia.
Malavika has published over twelve papers in leading energy and sustainability journals on topics such as energy security, rural electrification, and renewable energy. Her articles have also appeared in leading publications in the region.
