Professor David Chan is Professor of Psychology and Director of the Behavioural Sciences Institute at Singapore Management University, and Adjunct Principal Scientist at A*STAR. He has received numerous international awards and is the first non-American to receive the Distinguished Early Career Contributions Award from the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology in the US. He is the first scientist in the world to receive Elected Fellow status from all six major international psychology associations.
His works have been cited extensively in various disciplines, while he has served as Editor or board member on several journals. He is consultant to numerous organisations in the public, private and people sectors, and serves on various national councils, advisory panels and board of directors in Singapore and United States. He is an invited columnist for The Straits Times where he writes about social issues, and a consultant for Channel NewsAsia on several documentary and programme series.
He is a recipient of the Outstanding Volunteer Award from the Ministry of Social and Family Development, the Special Recognition Honour Award from the Ministry of Home Affairs, and the Public Administration (Silver) Medal presented by the President of Singapore.
